Although we tend to think of them as a woman’s problem, both men and women develop varicose veins — those bulgy veins that appear lumpy and dark in color (usually blue or purple).

They’re a common problem among older or pregnant women due to hormonal influences, and they tend to develop over time as someone ages and veins lose their natural elasticity due to rising levels of inflammation.

Women are at least twice as likely as men to develop varicose veins, but people of any age and race can be affected. They’re usually most noticeable on — and therefore the biggest concern for — people with light skin.

There are a number of different ways to prevent and treat varicose veins, ranging from expensive surgeries to using natural essential oils. Before turning to irritating prescription creams or expensive laser surgeries — which aren’t always effective and should really be considered last-resort options — it’s a good idea to try to prevent varicose veins by using home remedies first to lower the visibility of bulging veins without much risk involved.

Let's talk about how we can try to prevent this problem. One of the methods that can help you in future to avoid varicose is to improve leg tone. Here are some simple natural remedies that i can advise you based on my personal experience:

Grape seed extract

The tiny seeds inside grapes contain antioxidant substances, including several types of flavonoids, linoleic acid and vitamin E. Oligomeric proanthocyanidin complexes (OPCs) are another powerful set of antioxidants with well known vasoprotective properties. They prevent free radical damage to the walls of the blood vessels. They also promote the formation of collagen, a protein that helps maintain the elasticity of connective tissues and strengthen the walls of the blood vessels. It prevents leakage of fluid from the veins and resultant swelling of the legs.

You can rub powdered grape seeds or use commercially available grape seed extracts as long as their OPC content is 95% or more. apply it with water on veins and wash off after 10 minutes.

Garlic

Garlic is an excellent herb for reducing inflammation and the symptoms of varicose veins. It also helps break up harmful toxins in the blood vessels and improve circulation.

  • Slice up six garlic cloves and put them in a clean glass jar.
  • Extract the juice from three oranges and add it to the jar. Also add two tablespoons of olive oil.
  • Let the mixture sit for about 12 hours.
  • Shake the jar and then put a few drops of the solution on your fingers. Massage the inflamed veins with the solution in a circular motion for 15 minutes.
  • Wrap the area with a cotton cloth and leave it on overnight.
  • Repeat daily for several months.
  • Also, include fresh garlic in your diet.

The cypress extract.

The bark and leaves of this tree has many properties that might be able to prevent many diseases related to blood circulation, such as "heavy legs" and varicose veins in future.
Apply it on feet for 10 minutes.

Pot Marigold (Calendula officinalis)

Pot marigold is an age-old remedy for almost all skin problems. Although varicose veins are not really a skin problem, they can give rise to itching, dryness, eczema, dermatitis and ulcers. For quick relief of these conditions, make an infusion of the pot marigold petals in boiling water and use it for warm compresses. Or you can also soak in a warm bath to which a handful of flowers are added.

The anti-inflammatory property of pot marigold reduces inflammation and pain. It also promotes collagen formation in the skin, restoring its natural texture. Pot marigold has antimicrobial properties and promotes blood circulation, helping ulcers and boils heal faster.

Salt and clay

Main motive of this salt therapy is to reduce the veins enlargement. I strongly support this remedy improve leg tone. As clay dries it compresses the skin and veins in order to reduce veins enlargement. 

How to use salt and clay pack?

  • Buy good quality madicine clay from online store or from local store.
  • Take 2 table-spoon of mudpack clay and mix it with lukewarm water.
  • Add salt.
  • Take an ordinary jar and roll it over the mixture
  • Apply this mixture from jar on varicose and let it dry.
  • After 1-2 hours remove the clay and wash your legs.

You can do this twice a day as a result you will feel relaxation in enlarged veins.

Chamomile oil

Many different essential oils are beneficial for improving blood flow while also lowering inflammation and hormonal imbalances. One of the best for specifically treating vein problems is chamomile oil, which has the ability to increase circulation and support the circulatory system. Try rubbing five drops of cypress essential oil on the problematic area twice daily for several weeks.
