How to help with varicose veins?

Cayenne pepper

Cayenne pepper is rich in vitamin C and flavonoids. They protect the walls of the blood vessels from free radical damage and promote collagen formation to keep them healthy and elastic. But the most potent substance in cayenne pepper is capsaicin which has anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and blood thinning properties.

Cayenne pepper powder can be orally taken to reduce the pain and inflammation due to varicose veins. It can prevent blood clots and ulcers. Start with smaller doses of half a teaspoon cayenne pepper powder in a cup of water and gradually increase it up to 1 tablespoon.  Even mere topical application of capsaicin or cayenne pepper extract can increase blood circulation and bring relief to tired and sore legs.

GARLIC

Garlic is excellent for reducing inflammation and the symptoms of varicose veins. It also helps break up harmful toxins in the blood vessels and improve circulation.

  • Slice up six garlic cloves and put them in a clean glass jar.
  • Extract the juice from three oranges and add it to the jar. Also add two tablespoons of olive oil.
  • Let the mixture sit for about 12 hours.
  • Shake the jar and then put a few drops of the solution on your fingers. Massage the inflamed veins with the solution in a circular motion for 15 minutes.
  • Wrap the area with a cotton cloth and leave it on overnight.
  • Repeat daily for several months.

Cabbage Poultice

All of us are aware of the benefits of fruits and vegetables to lose weight, but some vegetables are equally effective in treating other health issues. Cabbage is one such vegetable that is used as a varicose veins home treatment. Cabbage is a storehouse of nutritious components like vitamins A, B1, B2, C, E and K along with iron, calcium, magnesium, potassium, phosphorus, sulfur and copper that is extremely beneficial for maintaining overall health and it works as a useful varicose veins treatment thanks to its sulfur, potassium, Vitamin K and vitamin U content. The high sulfur content of this cruciferous vegetable destroys the ferments in the blood that results in ulcers and infection.

Wash some cabbage leaves and chop them finely, add some water and turn it into a paste. Smear this paste on the affected areas and cover it with a clean cloth. Wait for 2 hours and wash off with water. This will help slacken the pain and swelling associated with varicose veins.
